Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow so we may have 6 more weeks of winter but that doesn't mean we can't get started thinking spring! Just picture it now with the flowers blooming, green leaves on the trees and warm weather. Close your eyes and smell the fresh air. Sunnier days are ahead. It's time to transform the inside of your home for spring and maybe it will even give nature some encouragement to follow along. Designers are going with bold and vivid themes for 2018. There's no need to go overboard when it comes to decorating for the seasons. Days are busy and there's a lot to do. Here are five simple decorative items to add to your home that will help boost the spring vibes. A wreath for your door. When coming and going it is a nice reminder that spring is here. Since it is outside the springtime cheer is being shared with everyone who passes by. There are a lot (really, a ton) of options to choose from when picking out a wreath for spring. This one has an easter theme with nice pastel colors. The wooden flowers give it a bit of a rustic look. It is a great price on Pier 1's website; you can't beat it. Check it out here. A table runner. There are so many beautiful options that it was difficult to pick just one to feature! When thinking spring bright colors or pastels are very common. Flowers are also central to the season so this runner is perfect. It is very versatile and isn't related to a particular holiday so it can be used more often. The flowers are so beautiful that they needed to be seen up close. You can get this for a great deal at Kohl's. View it here. A shower curtain. This is a room that you frequent and is often most overlooked when it comes to decorating. A previous blog post talked about how colors affect our mood. Looking at a nice shower curtain with soft colors will promote relaxation and peace and make showering even more enjoyable. It only takes a few minutes to change the curtain and allows the regular one to be washed for spring cleaning. You can get this or similar ones at Bed Bath and Beyond. Often they send out 20% off coupons to put toward your purchase! Spring decorating AND spring deals! Check it out here. Decorative throw pillows. These lovely throw pillows are at Boscov's. The pictures on these pillows are a nice reminder of the elements of spring in the home (they have a few different pictures to choose from online). They add color to the sofa and are a nice change from regular pillows. Not to mention the practical uses when you need to rest your head after a long walk in the park. Click here to view it. A Spring Candleholder. This pretty candleholder centerpiece has flowers, greens, and pastel eggs in a painted wooden box. The candles are not included but that allows for the option of replacing them with something else if desired. This can be used inside or out. You can see it here. These 5 simple decorations are all that's needed for someone who respects simplicity but still wants to add elements of spring to the home. The lovely decorations will add cheer and uplift everyone who sees them!
